Upheaval at the Original Cafe Regular?
Regulars of the coffee shop Cafe Regular (the original 11th Street off Fifth Avenue location) are in an uproar
because Martin O'Connell, the longtime and legendarily sarcastic wizard of the espresso machine, was suddenly "ousted" by the owner.
Regulars also hear that renovations are planned for this holiday weekend, including the introduction of a computer, uniforms for the staff, etc.
Regulars consider this a drastic about-face for this small, low-key neighborhood spot.
Can anyone help to get to the bottom of these sudden changes?

This is bad. Martin's fantastic, and Regular has been up until now a real place.
