MuniMeters Installed on Seventh Avenue

For the past few days, there have been rectangular posts popping up on Seventh Avenue around Third Street.  It wasn't clear what their purpose was.  Today I came upon a man painting one of those posts.  He told me that these posts were the base for the MuniMeters which are going to be installed on Seventh Avenue.  Once they are in, he said, the older parking meters will be removed.
