That's the view I have headed home from said grocery every other day. The juxtaposition with OFR's steeple suggests the title "Soul Food."

I don't find the staff any more objectionable than other stores in the area. You get what you pay for, and those jobs aren't exactly living wage. My main complaint is the utter lack of an inventory system (a trait the the new Target shares). Products seem to vanish and reappear randomly from day to day. I can never depend on getting my preferred brand, because I never know if it will be on the shelf.
The Key Food on 5th is cleaner and much better managed, but since I live across the street from the 7th avenue store and don't own a car, I'm willing to put up with it.
I have recently tried Union Market on 6th and Union and have found it a pleasant surprise
The have a nice selection of PREMIUM items, and that's reflected in their prices. I think the store is very easy to navigate despite the small size. Sometimes the checkout is a little backed up, but it pales in comparison to the log jams you sometimes find at Key Food on 7th.

If above comment is true then why do people shop there? Why aren't they out of business? Why do the people support such shabby grocery stores? All rhetorical questions. I guess it may be that there are so many other options in the area.
since I am, not a co-oper, I have recently tried Union Market on 6th and Union and have found it a pleasant surprise.
